Who We Are
Denver Food Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit in Denver, Colorado. Our mission is to produce health equity within Denver neighborhoods. We recover surplus fresh food that would otherwise go to waste from grocery stores, food wholesalers, and farms, delivering it by bike to No Cost Grocery Programs (NCGPs). These community-led programs distribute nutritious food to Denver communities facing barriers to food access
What We Do
Here's what a typical volunteer shift looks like in our Food Recovery program: You'll collect surplus food from local retailers and grocery stores, using either a car or one of our e-cargo bikes, and deliver it directly to a No Cost Grocery Program, where it's distributed to the community. These quick shifts, usually under an hour, are available six days a week, making it easy to fit volunteering into your schedule!
